- 7 years teaching experience - 2 years tutoring experience - Completed AP Spanish 4 and AP Spanish 5 I lived an entire year in Dominican Republic on study abroad to fully learn Spanish I have tutored extensively with 3 different tutoring companies and I also now run my own company since my services are in high demand. I teach using cultural examples, and as a former teacher and college professor, I am excellent at helping students ace tests. I start sessions by learning about the students' interests so I find common ground with my students, using their interests to drive our studying. On this website, I choose to focus on Spanish tutoring, but I am available for most subjects. Spanish was actually really hard for me to learn, but I thought it was really important to learn the language to connect with more people in my hometown of Dallas and throughout the world. Since I am now fluent, I can teach as if a native speaker, but I understand the problems native english speakers will have learning the language, due to my long journey as a Spanish language learner. I also have a M.A. in Teaching, where I focused on linguistics and language acquisition for those learning English. This degree, along with my teaching experience at college campuses to international students, has really helped me to understand what people go through as they learn another language - I know what struggles you are having in your brain and in your heart.
