Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and my graduate degree in bilingual education from Southern Methodist University. Since receiving my undergraduate degree I have taught elementary school exclusively. I am fluent in both Spanish and English and have found this to be tremendously valuable in my work with all of my students but especially those who are learning English as their second language. I have taught all subjects and grades in elementary school and I currently tutor all grade levels. Some of the subjects I offer tutoring for include Spanish 1-4, reading, writing, essay editing, phonics, English grammar and syntax, AP Spanish literature and culture, English, languages, and conversational Spanish. More recently I have served as an academic specialist and an instructional coach. This has given me the opportunity to see education from a different vantage point and given me more insight into instruction and curriculum development. I know without a doubt that each student comes to me with their own learning style, academic strengths, and learning challenges. It is my job to learn about them as an individual and pair that with the subject matter they need to learn to create engaging and effective learning material to help them on their journey.
