I tutored fellow classmates throughout high school, particularly for the state exams. I have had an exemplary academic record so far and have a solid grasp on nearly every subject that I've studied. 2180 on SAT, College Board AP Scholar, National Merit Honorable Mention, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society member, etc. I mentored incoming freshman this past academic school year and continued to work with elementary age students through tutoring programs for the Dallas school district. I occasionally tutor other university students in math and science. I'm very patient, and I understand that a large part of the learning experience is dependent on the teacher. I know the material well enough that I can customize the experience for the individual and ensure they get exactly what is needed.

Family and friends occupy most of the time I don't spend reading or rock climbing. I am very cerebral and don't rely on my emotions to make decisions. This comes in handy in tutoring, as patience can be deteriorated by frustration. I empathize with others easily, and since I believe that making the student feel comfortable facilitates learning I try to be friendly in all endeavors.
