I am a PhD graduate student in Statistics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Texas at Dallas with a GPA of 3.96. This is my 7th semester. Prior to that I have had majors in Computer Science and Mathematics. In my Masters degree and also during my PhD program, I have got full tuition waiver and received scholarships in all my academic semesters. I also got two NSF travel awards this year.I want to be an academician after the completion of my PhD, preferably working as an Assistant Professor.
Experience
I have a total of 8 years of experience in teaching and tutoring students. Being a teaching assistant I have 6 years of experience of teaching and tutoring freshman and sophomores on subjects like Mathematics(Calculus I,II, College Algebra, Pre-calculus) Statistics(Statistics for Life Sciences, Probability and Statistics in Management and Economics,Probability and Statistics in Computer Science) and Physics(Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism) at University of Texas at Dallas and at University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Prior to that I also mentored students for MBA exams from 2006-2008.

Hobbies
Since I am doing my PhD, people might think that I am nerd. :) But I am NOT!! Though my research demands devoting a good chunk of time to it, but whenever I fetch time, I hang out with my friends. I love to drive and so often go out on long drives. In my spare time, I love to cook various cuisines.. and I love swimming!!
