I studied history and literature when I went to the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas. I am currently a certified teacher in Reading, Elementary Education, ESL, and Middle Grades Science. I have a great passion for education, and have high enthusiasm and motivation in classroom teaching situations or one-on-one tutoring situations. My goal is always to enhance the quality of education my students receive by providing them with opportunities to succeed. When I tutor students, I use hands-on activities, test-taking strategies, and vocab review games to help students increase their achievement. It is important that learning is engaging and effective. My specialization is in students with learning differences, especially in science, math, and ELA. Due to my instruction and knowledge, my students have been able to increase their comprehension and academic skills in order to pass their standardized and classroom tests. I am able to tutor students in a variety of subjects, including preparation for standardized tests such as the ISEE, SSAT, and STAAR. I can also tutor in math and algebra 1, and in biology. I can also tutor in history, whether American, European, or World, and in government. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, decorating, cooking, and watching movies.
