Experience

Although enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as a business major, I recently decided to take a leave of absence in order to mull over my career options. My expertise on the tutoring front includes helping people to get ready for standardized exams. In particular, however, I have a passion for written and spoken English, and writing and critical reading happen to be two areas I where particularly excel. My personal belief is that the right tutor can come up with the right game plan to help any student to reach his or her full potential inside and outside of the classroom. As such, my aim is to make the learning process rewarding and fun at the same time. What this means is that I like to include the student's interests, as much as possible, in the tutoring process. In terms of my interests and hobbies, I enjoy video games, violin, books, travel, and animals. In fact, I often find that my love of animals turns out to be a common interest between me and my students. I leverage this mutual interest to build a student-teacher partnership that I can use to assist the student in comprehending the material on his or her own terms.
