EducationGrand Valley State University - BS/ BA, Sociology/ Spanish
ExperienceI attained a pair of bachelor's degrees in sociology and Spanish from Grand Valley State University. Following graduation, I participated in the Teach for America program and settled in Houston, Texas. My inaugural teaching job was for fifth graders in an English as a second language class. I helped transitional bilingual students with all general subjects. I moved on to working with seventh graders, teaching algebra in the charter school network. Once I completed my two-year obligation to Teach for America, I went on to pursue my master's degree. I made the decision to participate in the Professional Development Design Team for HISD after putting three years into grad school. With this team, the main objective was to work on developing resources and training strategies for teachers. As far as tutoring is concerned, I'm adept in helping students with a multitude of subjects, including anatomy, psychology, biology, English, science, social studies, world history, reading, writing, math, European history, chemistry, phonics, literature, Spanish, French, ESL/ELL, ISEE, essay editing, grammar and mechanics, and test prep. In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, volleyball, and basketball. I also enjoy dancing, traveling, and learning foreign languages.I look forward to meeting you, and I'm excited to share my knowledge and experiences with you to help you do your very best!
