Experience

I have a BS in both Psychology and French from Rockhurst University. Soon, I will be attending graduate school in order to further pursue French studies. My goal is to ultimately become an interpreter for businesses that work in French-speaking countries. Tutoring seems to be a natural fit for who I am. Fellow students would often come to me for help with work they found to be challenging, and I found it easy to assist them, no matter what the subject. My approach to tutoring is rooted in a belief that everyone has a different style of learning, and once we figure out what that is, there is nothing that the student cannot accomplish in their academic journey. It is exciting to be to see grades and test scores improve as a result of finding the strengths in a student. At the same time, I find that there needs to be some humor along the way in order to help us to continue to move forward in mastering the subject. My interests include art, reading, gaming, and martial arts (I earned a black belt in high school). I started drawing at seven years old and find I thoroughly enjoy it. In gaming, I especially like role playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons.
