Experience
After graduating from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Sociology, I accepted a position with Teach for America, where I spent my time teaching 3rd and 4th graders at a public school in Jackson, Mississippi. Once my two year contract ended, I moved to Dallas, Texas, where I currently work for the Dallas Independent School District as a data analyst. My long-term goal is to continue my education and earn a master's degree in education. I may also obtain a master's degree in statistics, which would aid me in my career in education policy. I tutor a wide range of subjects, consisting of nearly all elementary school and middle school courses. The subjects in which I am able to tutor include pre-algebra, algebra, linear algebra, arithmetic, general math classes, English, reading, writing, phonics, grammar and mechanics, American history, U.S. history, U.S. government and politics, social studies, social sciences, science, psychology, and public speaking. I also tutor in general test preparation, SAT and ACT test preparation, and ISEE lower and middle levels. For students who need additional help, my tutoring services are available throughout the summer months.While attending Harvard, I was a member of the sailing team, which subsequently turned me into a very disciplined and organized student. I try to instill these values into all of the students I tutor. Additionally, I have overcome dyslexia. This feat has left me with many strategies to help students of all abilities understand and retain information. Outside of work and tutoring, I enjoy taking road trips, sailing, and being outdoors.
