Rice University - Bachelors, History; French , University of Southern California - Masters, Broadcast Journalism, Documentary Film

Experience

I attended Rice University, and earned my BA in French Studies and History. From there, I went on to the University of Southern California, where I earned my MA in Broadcast Journalism and Documentary. I enjoy film production, and also get a good deal of satisfaction from tutoring students in various subjects, including history, Spanish, and French, among others. I have an affinity for the benefits of individualized tutoring, as opposed to the classroom setting. I work with each student first to create a positive atmosphere, where we both feel welcome and comfortable. This creates a trusting bond between myself as the tutor and the student, and this helps with communication and with empowering students to feel free to make and learn from mistakes in an entirely safe environment. I'm able to tutor with the student's goals in mind, whether that's a year long journey towards mastering an entire subject, or reviewing and studying for an upcoming exam. I enjoy sharing my insights with students, and seeing them as they grow in a subject towards success. I am open to teaching through conversation, and to answering questions for my students when they arise. In my free time, I like photography and filmmaking, playing and watching sports, and working out.
