Education

Hendrix College - Bachelors, Chemistry , Vanderbilt University - PhD, Chemistry

Experience

As a graduate student, I had the opportunity to teach analytical chemistry and general chemistry, along with labs. This experience allowed me to work with hundreds of different students to teach many different concepts. Science is cumulative, so it's important for students to understand the foundations first before building on that. I also help students understand the steps involved in solving problems, because this help students become self-sufficient problem solvers. Another technique I use is relating concepts back to things students already understand. This makes understanding complex ideas easier. I'm going to do whatever it takes to help students succeed. In addition to chemistry, I can also help students with writing and English. When I have some free time, I enjoy college football, professional football, video games and board games, science fiction, manga, and anime.
