I currently major in English at Southern Methodist University. During my senior year of secondary school, I tutored children and teenagers at a learning center. The youngest students were three years old and the oldest students were teenagers. I currently tutor at a professional tutoring company, tutor ESL graduate students, and primary school students. Subject areas I can assist in include SAT Verbal, SAT Writing, SAT Critical Reading, Essay Editing, and more. I can also help with basic homework assistance. My strongest specialty topic area is English. I scored very high on SAT tests related to English and can tutor students in the areas of technical and highly creative writing. I like to establish a collaborative relationship with my students so that they don't become bored or frustrated. I motivate my students by explaining the meaning of assignments so there is an understanding of why it is important to learn certain concepts. I believe that students are more likely to retain knowledge and stay motivated if they understand how it can be used in real life. I feel strongly about the value of education and enjoy helping students of all ages. When I am not tutoring, my interests include writing, English, and photography.
