Private tutor in Dallas, TX
University Of Mary Hardin Baylor - Bachelors of Science, History
I am from Carrollton, Texas, and I have tutoring experience in various subjects, including elementary and middle school math, writing, English, social studies, American history, and geography. I can also help students with test prep for various standardized exams, such as ASPIRE reading and STAAR grades 3-8. I attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor University, majoring in history with pedagogy as my minor. In 2011, I graduated from this institution. I do have teaching experience in a variety of different types of urban schools and with a wide range of students, including those with different forms of disabilities. As a result of my teaching experience, I can confidently teach students who are in either elementary or middle school grades. Presently, I work as a teacher with a probationary certification. However, my plans are to obtain my teaching certificate in Texas through the Web Centric Alternative Certification program, and I already have succeeded in passing the Generalist exam for grades 4 through 8. My other teaching experience includes working for a period of six months with the Dallas ISD, where my duties entailed being a floater teacher associated with the reading department. I also have held other positions in the teaching field, such as being a Pyramid educator and a teacher for in-school suspensions. In my spare time, I like to read, and I also am enthusiastic about sports such as rugby and football.
